How to Apply - Cadets in Flight

In order to attend, you MUST:
    Be a current member of CAP (with current membership card)
    Rank of Cadet Airman (C/Amn - Curry Award) by the deadline for applications. (Application can be submitted before completion of this requirement)
    If 18 years or older during the encampment, must have completed CPPT prior to encampment
 
ONLINE APPLICATION: Initial registration for the New York Wing Encampment is completed in eServices (GoCivlAirPatrol.com) in the Registration Zone. Once it has been processed by New York Wing, you will be able to access the status of your application using the APPLICATION STATUS Link at the top of this page. (This will be updated weekly.)

The Encampment Paperwork Package (ONLINE PT 2 ) must be completed and signed by parents/unit commander and returned to the Encampment Registrar before the deadline date. This package is available on this website in the DOWNLOADS section.


Check APPLICATION STATUS to check that your Encampment Paperwork has been received. If your record indicates that this is still outstanding two weeks after you sent it, contact the Registrar.

Online Process Only All applications must be entered online in eServices. If you have a problem, contact the Registrar who will assist you.

FINANCIAL AID FOR FIRST TIME CADETS
National Civil Air Patrol is again offering financial assistance. Information on how to apply is available on the National Website (Apply as early as possible, even if have not completed the encampment application.) Application can be made starting 1 March and will close on 1 May. (If you are accepted for financial aid, that does not mean that you are automatically accepted to the encampment - Encampment acceptance is a separate process.)

PAYMENT INFORMATION
The encampment fee of $250 can be paid by check when sending your encampment paperwork. If you wish to pay by credit card, a link will be sent after the deadline date. (A convenience fee of $5 will be assessed for all credit card payments.) All money will be refunded for any withdrawal from the encampment prior to the deadline date. If you are applying for tuition assistance from National please do NOT send any payment prior to the deadline date. If you do not receive an award and are accepted to the encampment, you will be billed at that time.
After the deadline date, any withdrawal will be subject to a cancellation fee according to the schedule below:
  • 15 - 30 June: $25 cancellation fee
  • 1 - 11 July: $75 cancellation fee
  • After 12 July: $125 cancellation fee
(There is usually a waiting list, so the sooner you let us know that you cannot attend, the more likely it is that someone else will have the opportunity to attend this year's encampment.)
If cancelling, you MUST contact the Encampment Registrar.
 
Transportation to and from the encampment is the participant's personal responsibility. Units or Groups may, and are encouraged to arrange for common transportation through corporate or privately owned vehicles. Participants should contact their unit commander to inquire if such arrangements are being made.

How to Apply - Cadets on Staff

In order to attend as a Staff Member, you MUST:
    Be a current member of CAP (with current membership card)
    Rank of C/TSgt by the Staff Deadline
    Previously completed a Civil Air Patrol Encampment
    If 18 years or older, must have completed CPPT prior to encampment
    Must enter a Staff Application and Staff Essay
    Be able to participate in the Leadership Workshop and the Pre-Encampment on-site Training

The Staff Application is available on this website. Go to STAFF LOGIN at the top of the main page.  
COMMAND STAFF: Invitations to appear before a virtual board will be issued to select candidates who have applied for senior Cadet Command positions (Commander, Deputy Commander Operations, Deputy Commander Support and Squadron Commanders). Candidates should be C/Capt or higher, have been on staff before, and have previously attended a New York Wing encampment. The STAFF ESSAY must be completed prior to the command staff deadline.
Command Staff applicants are expected to be familiar with National Encampment Program. A brief Online course is available at National Curriculum on the prior page.

How to Apply - Senior Members

In order to attend, you MUST:
    Be a current member of CAP
    Completed Level I prior to the Encampment
    Completed CPPT prior to encampment (If you completed CPPT training previously, check to see that you will still be current during the encampment, refresher training may be required.) (eServices/Online Learning/Learning Management System - RENEWAL Cadet Protection Basic Course (Seniors))
    Be able to participate in the pre-encampment virtual training
    If possible, Senior Members should possess a NYWg Driver's License (See the Senior Member Information Page on this website for information on how to get this license)

If you are interested in a Key Senior Staff Position, contact the Encampment Commander immediately. Since the individuals in these positions will be involved in a lot of pre-encampment duties, these positions are usually filled early in the process - Deputy Commander, Commandant, Training Mentor.
